Vitamins
Vitamin Supplements are they
right for you?
Are a safety net for a diet that’s high in delicious food but low in nutrition or because your body is stressed and
is using up nutrients at a higher rate than usual. Vitamin supplements can boost your metabolism and improve the
way your entire body functions.
Caffeine is one of our favourite ways to get a quick energy boost. Coffee, tea, chocolate, pop and
lately, energy drinks are a convenient quick fix for our flagging energy.
No matter how reviving or tasty these may be - using caffeine too much can eventually lead to the downside -
restlessness, insomnia, headaches and anxiety.
Vitamin supplements, taken regularly, can deliver a powerful and consistent flow of energy and
provide an amazing number of other benefits such as.......
- Boost the
production of energy at a cellular level - especially the B Vitamins and
Magnesium
- Improve blood
circulation to the brain and sexual organs, which
increases the supply of oxygen - especially if they contain
Ginkgo
- Improve your immune
system by increasing white cell function and resistance to
infection - especially if they contain Ginseng and Bee Propolis
Cover all your Vitamin Supplement needs by dividing them into
three simple categories.....
- Multivitamin and Mineral
supplement-Choose one containing as many vitamins and minerals as
possible and from a reputable supplier - they should have the appropriate RDI (Required Daily
Intake).
- Essential Fatty
Acids - Find a capsule form of Evening Primrose Oil
(Gamma Linolenic Acid) or Omega-3 Fish Oils. Aim for wild, pure sources - There are suppliers that offer
good combinations of both GLA and Omerga-3 Fish oils in one capsule.
- Herbal Energy
Boosters - Look for Korean Ginseng, Bee Pollen and
Royal Jelly can often be found in a combination capsule or separately. Do not take Bee Pollen or Royal
Jelly if you have an allergy to bees - Instead look for Korean Ginseng and Guarana supplied in
combination or separately. Ginkgo Biloba is also an excellent supplement for memory and improving sexual
function especially when combined with Korean Ginseng.
The benefits of vitamin supplements can start to appear in just a
few days but for best results it is recommended to try gradually introducing the supplements over a six week
period. To be safe consult your doctor or health practitioner before trying any new vitamins, minerals or herbs
into you health regime.
