Time seems to stand still.
One of the amazing things that my family and I found was that time seemed to stand still. When we thought it was
10:00 pm we felt it was much later. It could also be that the sun comes up around 6:30 am and goes down around 6:00
pm. Paddle Boarders, joggers surfers can all be seen early in the morning doing their thing.
Some Places to Check Out
There is so much to see and do, but here are a few items you might consider.
- Piiholo Ranch Zipline This is a seven generation cattle ranch, that not only offers
zipline activities but non zipline walks, horseback riding and beautiful scenery. Check out their web site
www.piiholozipline.com
- Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Great place to eat, located in Lohaina. www.bubbagump.com
- Road to Hana There are only two roads going to Hana. One has incredible curves aprox
900 curbs and takes over two hours to get there. Then there is the highway on east side of the Island
that offers some spectacular coastline views and constantly changing landscape.

- Big Beach Also know as Makena Beach excellent beach for tanning, body surfing
and snorkeling. A caution is that the waves can double break and be dangerous to bathers at
times.
- Jump on a Snorkeling or Scuba Diving Tour. there are many charters that will take you to
many great spots to snorkel or scuba dive. Most trips will start in the morning and end in the early afternoon.
Some serve a lite breakfast and a heavier lunch.
Researching Maui
- A very useful guide is a book called Maui Revealed by Andrew Doughty. This book contains
information that was derived from 3 years of living in Maui with great tips and secrets that the locals don't
want you to know.
- The Maui Visitor Guide A free guide available at many places in Maui or possibly from your travel
agent.
A great time of year to visit
A great time to visit Maui is in October to November before the U.S. celebrates Thanksgiving. You will
find some great deals for accomadations and possibly great flight prices.
